These Pages are a Photographic Survey of the Churches of the Medway Towns.

Perhaps the biggest and

most well known church in Medway,

of course, is the Cathedral.

A view of the cathedral

that is unlikely today               ,

due to housing development

on the riverbank

Before the riverside

housing site

was developed

The Cathedral shrouded in mist

in a distant view

from University of the Creative Arts.

The old church in Luton, that preceded the church illustrated below

Christchurch Luton, in May 1980, with the Maidstone and District Bus Depot in the foreground,

and, the new (as of 1983) Christchurch in 2022

Looking across to Luton from the Coney banks,

Christchurch and the tram power station

visible in the centre of the picture

St Margaret's Church (Church of Scotland), Saxton Street,

opened 23rd November 1866.                                                 .

It appears on the Ordnance Survey maps from 1897 -1952 ,

Latterly a Children’s Nursery, photographed in 2007, .

now a Block of Flats

The Kings Church, New Road Chatham                                                             ,

This elevation temporarily revealed, due to demolition of property in front of it,

but subsequently hidden again

Perhaps one of the more unusual locations for a church in Medway               ,

this one, which looks like a garage round the back of a terraced house,

which houses the British Orthodox Church, which meets only once a month!
